ICTE training and support

The rapid dissemination of information and communication technology means that everyone is now affected by its uses. Schools and higher-education establishments play a major role in promoting the government’s efforts to encourage the mastery of these new tools for information production, processing and distribution by the whole of society. A number of certificates, which can be acquired during initial training, vouch for a student’s ability to use information and communication technologies:

B2i® Primary school, Secondary school and College/CFA
School and college students will be able to acquire the IT and Internet Certificate (B2i®). This certificate is organised on three levels – primary-school level, secondary-school level and college level – and proves that the student has mastered certain basic skills. At this level, the student must be able use the ICTs available through his or her school in an independent, sensible manner and to a degree that allows him or her to read and create documents, look for useful information and communicate using e-mail. The College/CFA level, scheduled to start in September 2006, offers new texts in line with revised primary- and secondary-school standards.
